FAQ
How quickly will my order ship?
We package orders and ship them out within 2-5 business days of receiving them. Because are a small family business in a small town, we do not offer rush services or express shipping. You will receive an email notification with tracking number when order ships. Please use care to enter your email address correctly when placing your order as we are unable to edit it in our shipping system once your order is received. We are no longer able to offer international delivery due to excessive delays and high customs fees.
Do you offer hemming or alterations?
Our garments have been designed so that a local alterations shop can easily hem your garment for minimal fee. We are unable to offer hemming or alteration services.
Do you offer quantity discounts?
We want each of our clients to have access to an affordable, quality garment, so we provide the best prices to everyone regardless of the number of garments they order.
Do East Rome Designs cassocks work well under vestments?
Yes, the performance fabric is light and breathable so it's a terrific choice for wearing under vestments.
Can I call you about an order or have you prepare an invoice?
We do not offer phone consultation or invoicing services. All orders must be placed through the website in order to feed into our shipping system, which helps us fulfill orders in the most efficient way and keeps prices significantly lower.
I've received my garment and it seems too roomy?
Krista is trained in the Greek style, which is designed to be roomy for better air circulation and comfort while wearing multiple layers of garments in a warm climate, and all of her garment designs for East Rome Designs garments are done in this style. Each cassock, exorasson, vest, and sticharion is designed to have additional ease so you do not need to add extra inches when calcuating your measurements. It is also a more forgiving fit for the weight gain and loss within fasting seasons.
The garment I bought doesn't fit and I need to return it--what do I do?
You can return any garment as long as it has been only tried on (not worn). To return a garment, please ship to the address on the shipping label and make sure to include your order number or a copy of your packing list (we cannot process a return without your order number). Once we have received your garment we will process your refund to your original form of payment. We do not offer exchanges so if you'd like a different size, please reorder that size. Please allow 2-3 weeks for us to process returns.
Do you sell fabric, supplies, or patterns for making vestments?
No, we do not have the space in our workshop for this kind of inventory.
Are you offering any custom tailoring services such as custom-tailored cassocks, vestments or altar cloths?
No, we no longer offer any custom tailoring services. After 28 years of making custom-tailored vestments, we know firsthand how time-consuming custom vestments are, and therefore why they are so expensive. The standard sizes we have developed for East Rome Designs are based upon thousands of measurements Krista has worked with over the years, and when combined with batch cutting result in maximum cost effectiveness, savings which we pass onto you through lower prices.
We understand that some communities have distinct needs, but because our core mission is to offer high-quality, affordable, easily accessible garments, we dedicate our time to this purpose.
Do you offer subdeacon vestments?
Because the Greek liturgical tradition makes no distinction between subdeacons and deacons vestments (other than the manner in which the orarion is worn and the use of cuffs), we recommend purchasing one of our deacon's oraria and wearing the orarion in the subdiaconal manner.
Can I visit your workshop or pick up my order in person?
No, due to our city's home business regulations, we are not allowed to have customers in person at our workshop.
Thank you for your support!
